Rapunzel Cookies

I made these cookies for a sweet Tangled/Rapunzel themed party. Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies so I was super excited to make these!

I stopped doing characters a while back because it stressed me out way too much. Instead I offered to do things that definitely symbolize the movie without having to do actual character faces.

I did a big yellow sun, because the sun is the basis for all the magic in the movie:

A couple different bright colored flowers…

…and these sweet little purple 5’s with a long golden braid.

This was such a fun set to make! I think next time I will have to add a little green chameleon to the mix! 🦎

Rainbow Cookies

I made these fun rainbow cookies for my little lady’s Unicorn First Birthday Party.

I was busy planning 2 birthday parties at the same time and needed to save myself from getting too overeager and stressed. I decided to make some simple cookies that would still have that WOW factor.

I baked them with sprinkles because nothing says rainbow and unicorn like sprinkles!

I bought this cute rainbow cookie cutter here.

I outlined these in white buttercream and filled with white icing. Once they were dry they were ready for painting!

I mixed food coloring gel with a couple drops of vodka. (Lemon juice can also be used if you don’t want to use vodka or don’t have any on hand. The alcohol evaporates so there’s no issue with kids eating these!)

I used a small paintbrush to paint the colors on one at a time.

This was the first time I’ve done this and I learned as I was going that I should have waited to do the next color until the first one had dried. Some of my colors were a little thin and started the bleed into each other.

Most of them still turned out pretty cute in the end. They kind of looked like a kid had painted or colored them. 💗

I decided to outline the clouds at the end because it helped cover the awkward line where the color met the cloud.

At the party I used them as favors. They looked so cute on the table with the rest of the decorations!

Do you love funfetti and sprinkles as much as I do?? Check out these other funfetti treats I have made:

Funfetti Sugar Cookies

Funfetti Oreo Surprise Cookies

Funfetti Cookie Dough Truffles

Funfetti Blondies

My Little Pony Cookies

I still make things. Not as often, but I do. They just never seem to make it onto here.

I while back I made these My Little Pony Cookies. I was’t going to share them, but it’s been awhile now and I’m not feeling so self conscious about them anymore so I decided why not post them.

I don’t usually do characters (because they’re very hard) but I bought special cutter that indented a lot of the detail lines so I felt more comfortable taking on the challenge.

I like to outline in a dark color like this to create that “coloring book” feel. It also makes the images pop really well.

The hard part about filling in all of these little sections is they tend to crater. You can see this better in the next picture.

This is the finished product for this one. I wasn’t super happy with how they turned out, but I know I’m my harshest critic sometimes. I had a really rough time with the eyes. Is there a cookie character eye class I can attend? Ugh.

The next one was not as many tiny spaces to fill, but it had it’s own challenge.

This one has stripes in the tail, so I had to do a wet-on-wet technique.

Here’s the finished product. Again the eyes are rough and there is some cratering, but not too bad.

Thankfully I didn’t have to do too many ponies, because there were amazing rainbows to go with this set too. Can’t go wrong with a perfect rainbow! I pieced these together with a small flower cutter that I smooshed a little, and a couple circle cutters for the rainbow.

The birthday girl’s name went on the clouds.

I usuallly just google a bit and then “wing it” with my fonts. I like how this one turned out.

Little girls (and big girls) love sprinkles, so I rounded out the set with some rainbow sprinkled 4’s.

For the record, I’ve sworn off characters for now, they give me way too much anxiety. 😛

16th Birthday Cookies & Cake Balls

Alyssah turned 16 this week! Her mom is an old coworker of mine and decided to trick her for her sweet 16. Alyssah was told that there was just no money for a birthday party this year… but in reality there was a huge surprise party planned!

We went with zebra, hot pink, and turquoise as the “theme.”

This was my first time making zebra cookies. I contemplated a few ways I could do it before settling on outlining each stripe and filling them separately.

1

They came out better than I imagined, and each one was unique because I just free handed the stripes.

4

The rest of the cookies were filled in hot pink and bright turquoise, with alternating mongrams, 16’s, and her name.

3

Don’t they look cute together? I am in love with this set.

6

Last year for Alyssah’s birthday I made these Red Velvet Cake Balls. Her mom asked for cake balls again, so this year I went with yellow cake and chocolate coating.

2

I colored the chocolate coating black (or as black as I could) so that they would match the cookies. Then I drizzled the tops with turquoise and hot pink to match the cookies.

5

Alyssah was so surprised at her party! Her parents told her they were going to her aunt’s house for dinner. All her friends were hiding under the tables and behind furniture so they could pop out as she walked through the door!

Girly First Birthday Cookies

I am so in love with these pink gems!

The designs were sent to me by the mama, she found them online. I just mimicked them with my own style of frosting/icing. And they turned out better than I expected!

The cake on the cake stand is identical to the cake ordered for the party.

Under the Sea 3’s

The little girl that got the Caillou cookies is now 3!

Her theme was The Little Mermaid, but I thought that Ariel and Flounder were a little out of my comfort zone… we came up with a cookie that is more my style, but would still coordinate well with the feel of the party.

All of the decorations were pink and purple, but I added some bubbles to go with the “under the sea” theme.

Tea Party Teacups

A tea party theme for a little girl’s birthday – how cute is that! I’m so happy I was able to participate with cookies. Happy Birthday Julia!

Decor colors were pink, purple, blue, green, and yellow – basically amazing. I did a few teacups in each color, and different designs and cup/handle styles for each. Every cookie was completely unique!

All of the tea cups together…
